I found her in between the desert dunes,  
the ocean of sand,  the shore without the sea, the fairytale without the end.  I found Neptune's ex-lover, the faded blue and washed-out grey,  slow wings folded in and under the curtains of heat:  Trapped in the buried hourglass,  
the brittle truth and the bitter past.   
Mouth glued to the glassy globe,  murmurs she, "I am not beautiful or bone-lovely,  only skeleton-thin and  
grainy like the Gobi."
